James who suffers from a muscle wasting condition, kindly sent us some great photos of him competing in UK time trial cycling events.
I live in South Wales, UK. I have always done sport, previously race internationally in sailboats, competed and achieved some success in triathlon and cycling time trials. Diagnosed 5 years with muscle wasting condition that lead to weakness in one arm meaning could no longer balance on a normal bike or sail.
With the competitive flame still burning I was delighted when I saw there was a world championships for recumbent trikes so ordered a VTX through Pedal Power in Cardiff.
Since got the trike in August I have cycled around 13,000 km and have achieved some success at the BHPC races. Winning a time trial the British Paracycling Championships and dropped my PB for 10 miles down to 22.30 mins (sadly 2 mins short of my upright bike time but im getting there!).
My aims now are world champs and maybe hour record attempt next year and my now my son is hopefully getting into racing.
