Congratulations to Lee on receiving the No. 1 Coronation Edition ICE Trike
Lee Bullivant who is a British army veteran from Yorkshire was presented with the very first King Charles III Special Coronation Edition ICE Trike at a ceremony at the Tommy WW1 memorial statue in Seaham. He was joined for the special event by local representatives of the Royal British Legion, the regiment association and many veterans from The Royal Yorkshire Regiment.
Lee from Hartlepool in served with The Prince of Wales’s own regiment, The Royal Yorkshire Regiment, which is now the Kings Regiment. He was in hospital for 3 months following knee surgery and a fractured spine, where he had to re learn how to walk again.
Lee attended Royal British Legion’s, Battle Back rehabilitation centre in Newport. As part of his treatment, they advised that he ideally needed a recumbent trike as part of his ongoing rehabilitation so he could exercise safely and most importantly without pain.
Lee says, “Using the ICE trikes gives him a sense of freedom and he is now looking forward to regaining his fitness and he is planning to ride the famous John o’ Groats to Lands End route across the UK for charity next year to give something back. This trike is a lifeline for me and will enable me to get out and about, keep fit, and meet with other veterans, this will all help with PTSD and my mental health. I’m really grateful to the regiment and the Royal British Legion and Army Benevolent Fund for supporting me in getting this recumbent ICE Trike.”
