ICE Trikes manufacture recumbent trikes from their HQ in Falmouth and ship them to over 30 countries worldwide. Their recumbent adult trikes are ideal for people who cannot ride a traditional upright bike. Performance athletes, Antarctic explorers, commuters, leisure cyclists, disabled riders, stroke survivors the list goes on, all ride their trikes.

Their trikes have even been used to set Guinness World Records for long endurance ultra cycling and were even used by the first ever person to cycle to the South Pole.

ICE has always looked to the future in the design of their trikes, business and company succession planning, after becoming an employee owned company in 2022.

June 2023 was the month of ICE Trikes B Corp launch! It was a milestone on their journey and they wanted to share the news with colleagues as they begin to use the business as a force for good. The process to get certified will be a long one but they are ready to face the road ahead with whatever it may throw at them.

Phoebe Gilbert & Erin Wake will be the B Corp Champions and will guide the project through. In a presentation to the company they outlined why aiming for B Corp certification is good for ICE and the future with a brief overview of each of the five pillars of the impact assessment. With being an employee owned trust, transparency is at the heart of every decision that is made which is why it felt appropriate to give the colleagues this presentation. “By doing all this work, we will be supporting each other, our supply base, and the community to look after the planet as well as each other.” said Erin.

The team was lucky enough to welcome the incredible Chris Hines MBE of Surfers Against Sewage and A Grain of Sand to give a talk on the importance of looking after the planet and being more conscious of business decisions. They also welcomed a good friend, Ally Glover from Unlocking Potential back to ICE to introduce Chris and share her thoughts and feelings on how much ICE has grown over the last few years. Pheobe said “We have been fortunate to have supporters already on this journey and we have only just begun! It’s an exciting path and one we feel will be worth pursuing. Watch this space!”
